A fresh take on a market classic

‘The Collective’ Brand Identity

In collaboration with Yasper Agency.

We helped bring Darlington Market’s bold new vision to life with The Collective - a curated group of 13 artisanal kiosks designed to attract both loyal market-goers and a new generation of food and flavour enthusiasts. Our task was to create a distinctive visual identity that felt fresh and contemporary, while still respecting the deep roots of the space.

The branding draws subtle inspiration from Darlington’s rich railway heritage and the architectural character of the historic market building - blending tradition with modernity to create a look and feel that’s as inviting as it is grounded in place.

The visual identity was inspired by the heritage of the market and Darlington itself. Retro typefaces, reminiscent of the railways, combined with modern and playful ‘sticker’ style graphics, created a flexible look and feel with a wide age appeal.

Julian Pearce, Yasper

“Sarah was really invested in our brief and went above and beyond to ensure that our client was delighted with the outcome. She understood the importance of blending an eye-catching design with the heritage of the brand, and was highly creative in articulating these ideas into our chosen route.”
